What makes a baby laundry detergent safe for newborns?
Babies are born with skin that's thinner, more permeable and still developing - their protective barrier keeps maturing through the first few years of life. So the things an adult barely notices can leave a newborn red, rashy or flaring, usually right where clothing sits against the skin.
That's why dermatologists recommend fragrance-free, hypoallergenic detergents for infant clothing. Our sheets leave out synthetic fragrance, optical brighteners, parabens and harsh surfactants entirely - the irritants newborn skin does best without.
Gentle - but does it shift real baby messes?
Newborn laundry isn't delicate in the stain department - breastmilk, formula spit-up, nappy blowouts, drool and first-food purees all end up on those tiny clothes. A gentle formula still has to lift them, and ours does.
Our plant-derived enzyme blend targets exactly these messes: lipase breaks down milk and oily stains, amylase dissolves starchy first foods, and protease lifts protein stains like formula and blowouts - all in a cold wash, which is kinder to fabrics and skin.
